Could someone point out the advantage!

Dvds are not High-Defintion unless they have like 20 mins of High-defintion video Laughing.
I know it would be a neater option since the audio and video cable mess will be dismissed since HDMI is all in one like firewire.
I think its just a waste money buying a DVD Player with a HDMI port and cable for near same quality audio/visual experience.

Now HDMI Video cards, Bluray and HD disc players I understand.
